I am engrossed in my paper for the Probationary Review to revise, considering the feedback of my supervisor Dr David M. Moffitt.
My primary concern was the shepherd-king tradition and the messianic idea in the Animal Apocalypse of 1 Enoch. I had to face different concerns, such as the transformations of Noah and Moses and the identity of the seventy shepherds as the influences of previous studies. I could not reach a higher level by devoting more time to the refutation against the previous studies than my initial concerns. I should have focused more on their role than on the identity of the seventy shepherds.
I am grateful for my advisor's praise and encouragement. I have time to reflect on his comments for my growth and further revising work.
I concentrated on the work for several months, so it is not easy to break the mold of my thoughts and think in a different view. It is the reason I am struggling to find a way to start my revision work.
I have decided to focus on shepherd imagery to compare it with the Biblical texts of shepherds. It requires more than just revising work, and I have to write a lot of new ideas. It is no easy matter. I believe it brings better assessments for the Probationary Review.
