Revue de Qumrân was founded by Jean Carmignac in 1958. It is an International leading journal dedicated to the study of the Dead Sea Scrolls and the significance of these manuscripts for our understanding of the Ancient Near East in the Hellenistic and Roman period. Whether it concerns ancient Jewish or Christian litterature, history, archaeology or epigraphy.

신약학 박사 과정 전공자에게 독일어와 프랑스어가 필수라고 들었는데, 지도 교수가 요구하지 않아도, 두 언어로 된 자료를 봐야만 한다. 이상적으로는 두 언어를 독해 기준으로 중급 이상으로 실력을 쌓아야 하지만, 현실은 번역기의 도움을 받는다. 최신 기술의 도움 없이 일일이 번역하며 공부했을 선배님들이 대단하다는 생각이 절로 든다.
